Drama education as a way for teaching literature

The integration of drama education in the primary education is one of the frequently discussed topics in the contemporary education. This diploma thesis deals mainly with the use of drama as a supplementary teaching method for the work with literary texts. The main aim is to compare the efficiency of literary education that uses standard educatory methods with the education that uses methods and techniques of drama education. The theoretical part deals especially with the terms personality of a child of lower school age, literacy and drama education. The practical part emphasizes the strong impact that own experience have on children readers and therefore underlines the efficiency and applicability of drama methods and techniques not only in the literary education, but in other subjects as well. It also contains the used methodic and results of the research based on questionnaires which were used for recording and tracking of the memorized information.The focus group for the research consists of pupils of lower school age.
People's habits and their impementing in the music activities in a nursery school

This diploma thesis is focused on possibillities of using the people's habits in music activities in nursery schools and their influence the development of music abilities. It brings the outline of the religious holidays in the course of the year. The thesis explores the use of people's habits in musical activities in kindegartens and the suggestions of the possible solutions how to apply people's habits in musical activities have been outlined based on this research.
Dance and its influence on harmonization of child development within the age range 6 - 11 years

This diploma thesis considers dance and child and how dance can influence the development of child's individuality. Theoretical part deals with characteristics and history of the dance, child within the age range 6 - 11 years, physical, psychical and spiritual aspects of people personality. It brings information about "movement and dance education" - as a new subject in the Curriculum framework for basic education. The research part of the thesis is oriented only on "movement and dance education" and how the people are informed about its implementation to schools. It also analyses the possibilities of influence on selected areas of development of child. It also tries to demonstrate positive effect on some of these areas.
Analysis of preparedness of teachers to manage problematic behaviour of children with neurodevelopmental disorder ADHD

The aim of Analysis of preparedness of teachers to manage problematic behaviour of children with neurodevelopmental disorder ADHD dissertation was to assess the readiness of primary school teachers to deal with children who have ADHD, or hyperkinetic disorder. Furthermore, it aimed to find out the level of knowledge, information and awareness of this subject. Last, but not least, we wanted to find out whether teachers knew that it is very likely that there is a child with ADHD in their class and how they work with these children. In our research, we confronted up to date theoretical findings given by the science and research with practical findings emerging from questionnaire responses. By doing so we have highlighted an overlooked but at the same time important problem of our current education system. The theoretical resources were solid data regarding the research subject, ADHD, with which we documented the importance of this issue. In the practical part of the research, we concentrated on the teachers' knowledge and their awareness of ADHD and on their experience in everyday routine at primary schools. Social disadvantage of children and the young at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

This diploma thesis focuses on clients of the Department of child and adolescent psychiatry who are hospitalized because of their behaviour and adaptation disorder. A significant sign of these children is their problematic behaviour and maladaptation resulting from their social handicap which has several forms. The environment of psychiatry centre adjusts different social measures and educational patterns and needs. The theoretic part describes the term of a socially disadvantaged child, moreover, it states the function of a family, relations and educational styles as a base of primal socialisation, as a headstone of their activity in society. The practical part of the thesis describes seven case studies about individual clients of the centre and their activity in this specific environment. The main goal of the investigation was to prove that the psyche of the school aged children is influenced by their social handicap which results in their bad self- control mechanisms, low self-evaluation, and also in their behaviour disorders. Using innovative teaching methods to enhance social relationships in the classroom: focus on 6-10 year olds attending primary school

ANNOTATION: The aim of this dissertation is to determine whether innovative teaching methods may positively influence the quality of social relationships and whether they may contribute towards better communication and collaborative behaviour amongst pupils. The goal of the given approach is to develop positive group dynamics and create inspiring environment for the application of modern teaching methods. The theoretical part centres on the origins of innovative teaching methods that were largely motivated by the evolving conception of child's personality. This section describes some of the key alternative schools and programmes that gave rise to the aforementioned innovative teaching methods. The goal of the theoretical section is to clearly define the concept of innovative teaching methods with emphasis on those that contribute towards the formation of a positive classroom climate. The theoretical part then conceptualises innovation in teaching and explains the role of the teacher. The personality of a 10-year old and the attributes defining this developmental stage are also explored.
